The lake was almost frozen completely (January 10, 2015). Fruitless efforts of breaking the ice with large rocks by bank fishermen was the only activity seen except for a small area occupied by 90+ water fowl (Mallard Duck, American Coot, Pied-billed Grebe, Ruddy Duck, Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup)
